Established as The Bullock School for Boys about 200 years ago in Wilmington, Delaware, Widener University has undergone a long journey of development and success to become one of the universities classified among "Doctoral/Professional Universities" and a "Community Engagement Institution". Thriving towards becoming one of the leading universities of the city, the University’s catalogue a pool of course like associate's, baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degrees in areas ranging from traditional liberal arts to professional programs for the students to choose from. Campus Life

The University is spread across three large, beautiful and welcoming campuses equipped with essential facilities like bookstore, bursar's office, campus safety, copy and mail center, student forms, housing, information technology, diversity and inclusion, tuition and financial aid, honor societies, journals, and organizations, commencement. Apart from academics, the University has more than 100 clubs and organizations for students to participate and explore new horizons of their own talents and interests. Furthermore, for students to enhance their social life, University organizes various events like Greek Week, Spring Carnival, and Homecoming. University houses Wolfgram Memorial Library containing 242,000 volumes, 175,000 microfilms, 12,000 audio-visual materials and 1,960 serial subscriptions.

Some of the notable alumni of the Widener are Brian P. Tierney - former publisher of The Philadelphia Inquirer,Christopher "Chris" A. Brown-an American Republican Party politician, judge of the Court of Common Pleas in Montgomery County-Risa Vetri Ferman and American Democratic politician -Dawn Marie Addiego.
