Campus Life
WCU’s Cullowhee campus covers 600 acres and is located near the Great Smoky Mountains in the southwest of the state. It is one of the most biologically diverse areas in the state, providing students with unparalleled learning and adventure opportunities. Cullowhee campus is known as the largest outdoor adventure school, adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which can provide research and discovery paths for many projects. Further, it also has a campus in Biltmore Park, south of Asheville. The university attracts many people seeking to explore, and our campus is famous for its outdoor access. Our students often spend their free time hiking or biking through national forests, backpacking or camping on the Appalachian Trail or Great Smoky Mountains National Park. In winter, we are less than an hour away from two ski resorts for skiing and snowboarding. Besides, campus accommodation provides a clean, safe and healthy living environment that can enhance and support WCU’s educational goals and creed.
