The University of Missouri in St. Louis was established in 1963 as a public land research institution and is the newest of the four-state schools in the MO system. From outstanding students to dedicated faculty and staff, the University has proudly built a vibrant and diverse community devoted to the tribe of exceptional scholars. The university is one of the four branches of the University of Missouri system, adjacent to Columbia University, Rolla University and Kansas City University. Besides, the institute hosts the nation’s only professional training optometry program.

Campus Life

UMSL is spread across 470 acres in the suburbs of St. Louis County. Both the modern and historic academic buildings and various student dormitories and apartments give students the ultimate place to gain unique insights and experiences. Further, pupils can join more than 120 student organizations, including 15 Greek societies. The Millennium Student Center at campus also provides students with opportunities to participate, learn, and grow, strengthening community building. Living on campus can allow one to establish new and lasting relationships, save time and cost of commuting. Further, it enables grads to participate more in campus activities and make full use of campus resources.
