Founded in 1925, Southeastern Louisiana University is a state-funded institution with a focus on the liberal arts. The university has its main campus in the city of Hammond, 45 miles east of Baton Rouge. Study at Southeastern in split into five colleges- Arts & Humanities, Business, Education, Nursing & Health Sciences, Law, Psychology, and Science & Technology. The athletic team at Southeastern is known as the ‘Lions’. Southeastern Louisiana University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCC).

Campus Life

Campus life here at SLU is exploring with more than 100 students organizations and clubs giving an everyday experience of living and working in a society with people of varied cultures, interests, ideas, and values. Also, SLU provides scholarships of more than $6 million per year. The school also hosts several annual events which include Gumbo Ya-Ya, an event celebrating regional cuisine during homecoming. Keeping all this tradition students can have his or her life in his academic life. One can surely enjoy its athletics skills by competing in NCAA Division I intercollegiate.
