Skidmore college is a highly ranked, residential, liberal arts college situated on 1,000 acres of natural beauty in Saratoga Springs, New York. Skidmore has approximately 2,650 students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in one of more than 60 fields of study. Skidmore enables students to pursue various degrees. There are 43 majors, with an average of 16 students per class, and more than 1,000 courses. The most popular majors pursued by Skidmore students include English, business, psychology, political science, economics, studio art, theatre, biology, and environmental studies. The Department of World Languages ​​is exceptionally diverse, allowing students to use more than six different languages ​​to teach. The college's creativity empowers, drives, and opens up students to integrate various ideas, try new things, and view the world from multiple angles.

Campus Life

Skidmore's campus covers 850-acre land and has a museum, art galleries, libraries, theatre, and a music center. Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery are the main art facilities of the college. In addition to the Tang family, Skidmore has an undergraduate studio space and several smaller galleries. The Lucy Scribner Library has a collection of approximately one million books. Its five-story building contains a large computer laboratory, with about sixty open computers on the main floor, with classrooms and private offices. Skidmore has nine campus dormitories and three campus apartment buildings. Skidmore University Student Government Association (SGA) is the governing body of approximately 130 student union clubs and organizations on campus. In addition to being the official liaison between students and the government, the Skidmore Student Government Association also advocates university policies that benefit student groups' short-term and long-term interests.
