Established in the year 1994 and located in Senate House, Bloomsbury, School of Advanced Study is the United Kingdom’s national center for social sciences and humanities-based research promotion and facilitation and is a postgraduate institution of the University of London. The university is situated near the British Library and British Museum and has collaborations with nine research institutes namely the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, the Institute of Historical Research, the Institute of Philosophy, the Institute of English Studies, the Warburg Institute, the Institute of Classical Studies, the Institute of Latin American Studies and the Institute of Modern Languages Research. Most of these institutes have long histories and provide specialist research services, develop digital resources, maintain and develop library collections, host visiting scholars and postdoctoral fellows and publish journals and book series along with organizing academic events such as workshops, seminars, conferences and lectures.
