Prairie View A & M University is one of the renowned university which was established in the year 1876 as a historically black university located in Prairie View, Texas. The campus is situated on the hills and it is viewed as the "Hill View". This university offers more than 50 bachelor's, 37 masters and 4 doctorate degrees. The university is also denoted as PVAMU or PV university. Some of the programs are architecture, agriculture and health science, engineering, nursing, general studies and so forth. This public university is affiliated with the Texas A&M University System, APLU and TMCF.

Campus Life

Prairie View A & M University campus covers an area of about 1440 acres and has nearly 50 different buildings. Moreover, the university has other campuses namely Northwest Houston Center and Texas Medical Center. John B. Coleman Library is the main library of the university that comprises a wide range of information resources related to academics for the students which would help them to boost knowledge in the respective field of study. The university has made provisions for the international students and the other students are the accommodation facility. Prairie View A & M University provides a residence facility to their students which are highly furnished and comprise of a large number of amenities. The residences are fully furnished and available in various phases in the apartment-style. To add to this, the on-campus job and the career counselling facility is also available for the students. There are recreational activities and events organized on-campus every year to ensure the growth and development of the students. It is open to all the students. The student's activities include sports, marching storm, black foxes and much more.
