Established in 1915, Missouri Western State University (Missouri Western) is a public institution having its root in Saint Joseph, Missouri. The university begins its operation as a normal college, which later on, in 2007, received its degree-granting status. To ensure the proper functioning of the university, Missouri Western has its accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and is also a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA).
