Established in the year 1941 Indiana University Southeast is also known as IUS is a public educational institution located in New Albany, Indiana. The campus located near Louisville opens up a host of opportunities for its students as interns and employees in Fortune 500 companies. With a vision to become one of the nation’s leading student-centered university, the university offers more than 50 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and certificates; along with an option to choose subjects and design own curriculum in the interdisciplinary studies. The programs are offered through its seven schools of arts and letters, business, education, natural sciences, nursing, social sciences, and general studies. 

Campus Life

The university is located in suburban New Albany near the river Ohio over 180 acres of land. The campus offers a lodge-style residence facility on campus with the option to have shared accommodation or a private room. The students are encouraged to use the sports facilities and join the teams; called Grenadiers, which compete at the national level for various sports. The students have a multimedia organization called the Horizon, which won the Peacemaker Award in 2015 for college journalism. There is a provision to access student services such as career and academic advising, math resource lab, writing center, bookstore, and more. The university library is well equipped with all the reading material, along with hosting exhibitions, being a center for cultural resources, special collections, and more.

Some of the notable alumni names include Serena Dee, who is a professional wrestler, Jazzmarr Ferguson who is a professional basketball player, Ron Gettelfinger, President of the United Auto Workers labor union, and Mike Sodrel who is a former United States representative.
