GAVILAN COLLEGE

Gavilan College was established in the year 1919. Originally, the community college was named San Benito County Junior College at the time of its inception. The college campus spread over 2,700 square miles in the area. This included the major part of the San Benito County and the southern part of Santa Clara. The Gavilan College has received accreditation from the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges or the WASC. The college offers Associates of Science and Associates of Arts degrees along with certificates in a plethora of different career fields and the only college to offer a degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology in northern California.

Campus Life

The college campus has several housing alternatives and traditional housing community centers, which puts the students first in every aspect of the university and the campus. Students have access to a bookstore, career services, and centers for music, leadership, & excellence from ample student resources. There are also career counseling assistance, student financial aids, health & wellness services, information technology assistance, international Student support services, and a separate mail & copy center on-campus. Overall, a student can find everything and can explore some beautiful places in Santa Clara.
