Founded in 1852, California University of Pennsylvania is a public university that offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. It has more than 150 undergraduate programs and numerous master’s degree programs. In addition, it has multiple certificate and licensure programs. Cal U has a Global Online program, which offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as certificates. The programs range from athletics, business, communications, computers, healthcare, mathematics, law and justice, engineering, visual and performing arts. Among the online programs, students have more than 75 online associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs, or even earn a certificate to enhance or advance their career.  

Campus Life

The main campus consists of about 38 buildings situated on 92 acres. Another 9 acre facility is located near the main campus and houses the school’s soccer facility. Additionally, a 98 acre recreation complex, George Roadman University Park is located one mile from campus which has a football stadium, sports facilities, and picnic facilities. Cal U has six residence halls and Vulcan Village apartments for students that offer best in class housing. The Heron Hall is the newest facility featuring an elevated running track, cardio equipment, free weight equipment, weight machines, two racquetball courts, a dance studio, two gymnasiums, and a swimming pool.

Among the notable alumni, Nicholas Addlery, major league soccer player; Donna Feigley Barbisch, US Army major general; Del Beshore, NBA player; Allen Foster Cooper, Republican US Congressman; Dale Hamer, former NFL referee; and countless others.
