ANGELO STATE UNIVERSITY

Established in the heart of West Texas, San Angelo, Angelo State University was founded in 1928 as San Angelo College. The university has six colleges that focus on Health and Human Service, Arts and Humanities, Education, Graduate Studies and Research, Science and Engineering, and Business. The different schools offer more than 45 programs at the undergraduate level and 36 master’s programs, and one doctoral degree. The university is home to 10,775 students and 441 highly qualified faculty members along with a 19:1 student to faculty ratio which would ensure every student gets much-needed attention.

Campus Life

The main campus of Angelo State University is spread across an area of 268 acres with tree-lined walkways for pedestrians and over 60 buildings. According to the AffordableSchools website, the university has one of the most affordable residence options in America. The university provides on-campus housing for over 2500 students. The university boasts one of the nation’s best student union centers along with more than 100 student clubs and 20 sports teams. Which helps the students explore and grow their interests and passion. The student media includes a locally run Tv channel, weekly newspaper, and internet radio, all of which are student-led.

The Alumni Association ensures a continued relationship between the graduates and the university. Some notable alumni names include Rupert Boneham, who is a television actor, Jim Morris is an American professional baseball player and Pierce Holt who is an American footballer.
